The Nippon Paint Asia Young Designer Awards (AYDA) celebrate the creative talent of architecture and interior design students from across Asia. This prestigious competition aims to inspire young designers to be innovative, socially conscious, and sustainable in their design approach. The Department of Architecture is proud to announce that a graduate of our program, Bachelor of Science (Architecture), Ms. So Nok Ying, has been recognized as a recipient of the 2022 AYDA Gold Award. The international award ceremony was held on 14 July 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where Ms. So was honored for her outstanding work. During the ceremony, Doris received an award certificate and a scholarship of HKD 12,000, highlighting her exceptional contribution to the field of architecture.

The Gold Award winner, So Nok Ying, attended the international award ceremony hosted by Nippon Paint in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This prestigious event was not just a moment of recognition but also an opportunity for cultural exchange. During her visit, So Nok Ying engaged in various activities that allowed her to immerse herself in the rich and diverse local culture. She explored historical landmarks, sampled traditional Vietnamese cuisine, and participated in cultural workshops, gaining a deeper understanding of the local traditions and lifestyle. This experience not only celebrated her outstanding achievements in architecture but also enriched her perspective through meaningful interactions and unique cultural experiences in Vietnam.
